Unique Paso Robles Wineries You Should Visit

from: Maxx Guide to Wine

Anyone planning to visit the wineries of Paso Robles, California, will be pleased with the options available, since there are over one hundred to choose from. If you're trying to decide which Paso Robles wineries to visit, here are three recommended choices you'll definitely want to include in your list of wineries to visit.

Stacked Stone Cellars

Stacked Stone Cellars launched in 1998. Considered "new" by many people's standards, you discover a fine winery surrounding by a beautiful landscape. This winery is, in fact, highly rated and recommended, despite its relatively "young" age.

What's unique about Stacked Stone Cellars is how family friendly they are. On their website, they encourage families to bring a picnic and enjoy the day. Especially unique is how pet-friendly the winery is, which is almost unheard of in the area.

Their tasting room, located in the barrel room, is open Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Weekday tasting are available by appointment only. Stacked Stone Cellars provides complimentary wine tasting.

Rotta Vineyard and Winery

You should make sure you visit Rotta Winery and Vineyard because it will give you insight into the history of Paso Robles and the surrounding area. This winery is one of the first three established and got its start in 1908. According to their official website, Rotta Winery and Vineyard is the only remaining "family owned original winery," in the county. This is a major feat, considering they started in 1908.

Rotta Winery specializes in red, white, and dessert wines. Available for sale you'll find Trinity 2004, Heritage Zinfandel 2005 and Zinfandel Rose 2007, to name a few.

Rotta Vineyard and Winery tasting room is open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. While visiting you can enroll in their wine club. For an affordable price, you'll receive two complimentary bottles of wine shipped to your home and many other benefits.

Nadeau Family Vintners

Nadeau Family Vintners is unlike few other wineries in the area. It's considered an "estate micro-winery." Despite its small size, the winery participates in local wine events, including the Winemaker's Open House and the Harvest Wine Weekend.

Although the tasting room can't claim to be luxury and elegant, it will likely be the perfect experience for you. According to their official website, their tasting room doubles as their experimental lab. The professional, but laidback environment makes this micro-winery worth a visit. Tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stacked Stone Cellars, Rotta Vineyard and Winery, and the Nadeau Family Vintners are just three of the many wineries open to the public in this region and they're highly recommended because they all offer something unique.

If you can't determine which wineries to visit, why not book a guided wine tour? For a resonable fee, transportation is provided along with discounts and complimentary wine tasting at many of the area's fine wineries.
